The road
Naturally, you must also adapt your
speed to the condition of the road you are driving on. On gravel roads, the
braking distance is much longer than on asphalt, and a wet asphalt road is more
slippery than a dry one. Teach yourself to 'read' the road and predict where
danger might lurk: at bends, on hills, on wet patches, and many other places.
The vehicle
Performance varies greatly from one
car to the next and even more so from motorcycle to motorcycle so, if you
borrow a vehicle you're unfamiliar with, make sure you take things easy.
